Tech N9ne – All 6’s and 7’s

by: Larry Gilbert \"All \"\" Tech N9ne may not be a big mainstream artist yet, but with his latest album, All 6’s and 7’s, that could change quickly. The 24-track album is more than the average album and when you add in the bonus tracks, it totals 31 tracks. All 6’s and 7’s starts off with a bang with “Technicians” but it gets even better with “Am I a Psycho.” The album features many mainstream artists such as Lil Wayne, B.o.B., T-Pain, Twista and Busta Rhymes along with a few newcomers. On this album TechN9ne doesn’t only rap but he adds in some ingredients people can relate to and keeps it real with stuff that could be his own feelings. For example, on “Strangeland” he shares ‘Am I in the Twilight Zone? Cause my mic’s on but I never thought he world would buy my songs.’” He also explains on “I Love Music” that music “saved my life, paid my lights and made my wife say ‘Bye bye.’” Tech N9ne covers a variety of topics on All 6’s and 7’s along with balancing mainstream artists with newcomers, high-energy rhymes with substance-filled bars and heavy beats with softer melodies. I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys music that stands out from the crowd because Tech N9ne does an amazing job of creating his own style. Rating: 8.5/10
