Rend Collective: As Family We Go review

Ireland\’s Rend Collective have really blown up in popularity in the U.S. over the last few years. They came to the States in 2012 as part of The Rock and Worship Roadshow with MercyMe and have been in demand ever since and they\’ve happily obliged, coming back time after time- most recently with Chris Tomlin and Tenth Avenue North on the Love Ran Red Tour this Spring. After returning home, they\’re set to release their latest album, As Family We Go, and it\’s guaranteed to hit home with a lot of listeners. Rend Collective have always had a dominating arena-anthem feel to their songs and their worship-style is one that\’s easy to fall in love with. As Family We Go is no different and they go all-in with this album. Some songs are more powerful than you\’re used to and some are so calm you\’ll be able to sit and have your daily quiet time and devotion time with them. Then there\’s songs like “Your Royal Blood,” which is a take on the classic hymn, “Nothing But The Blood,” but with a more bluesy, jazzy feel to it and with a choir!- how can you go wrong with that? You can close your eyes and literally feel the music and feel like you\’re in an arena with the music surrounding you. This is Rend Collective\’s strongest offering yet, which is saying a lot. This is the album that encapsulates everything Rend Collective is all about and should be the one that puts them over to the next level. Whether you\’re the strongest Christian in the world or a devout atheist who just enjoys Christian music (they\’re out there), this is an album you can\’t go wrong with. Rating: 9/10 -Reggie Edwards
