Live: GWAR in Baltimore

GWAR is currently out on tour supporting their newest album The Blood of The Gods bringing with them is U.S. Bastards, Ghoul and Doyle. I was able to catch the Baltimore Maryland date at Rams Head Live. Unfortunately the day before the show Doyle had announced that he was going to miss a few shows in order to have emergency eye surgery. Up first for the night was U.S. Bastards from Richmond Virginia. These guys were full of energy and a blast to watch on stage. They did one of the coolest covers of “Killed By Death” that I\’ve ever heard and the crowd loved it as well. Taking the stage next was Ghoul. The set is full of awesome characters like a voodoo priest that beheads a chicken and what looked like a swamp monster that sprayed blood out of its mouth. As if that\’s not cool enough each member of the band sports an executioners hood on stage. They opened their hit “Ghoulunatics” and went on to play “Bringer of War” and “Splatterthrash”. GWAR is one of those bands that is appreciated more after seeing them live because of everything that goes into the show. The costumes, the props and of course all of the blood is unreal. The crowd was absolutely insane from start to finish if their set and most people left the night completely soaked in fake blood. They opened with “War On GWAR” and continued the set with “Hail, Genocide”, “Ill Be Your Monster”, “Womb With a View” and “Crushed by the Cross”. This was one of the best shows I\’ve been too. Not only was every set a lot of fun, but the music was great and the crowd was overly energetic. The Blood of the Gods tour runs until December 10th with a few dates featuring He is Legend. -Tera Ford \"Click \"Click \"Click
