Live: August Burns Red brings Messengers Tour to Baltimore

Starting 2017 off the right way August Burns Red is out on tour celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their album Messengers bringing with them Protest the Hero, In Hearts Wake and ‘68. ‘68 opened the night and these guys were a blast on stage. They are a two man band who clearly like to have fun and the crowd loved every second of it. The music was incredible as well. Their set was just all around fantastic. Up next was In Hearts Wake all the way from Australia. I was genuinely impressed with how good these guys were live. The energy they had on stage was unreal and the crowd could not get enough of them. Protest The Hero took the stage next. I was personally over the moon about this because I have always loved their music but have never fully seen one of their sets live. It was absolutely glorious because vocalist Rody Walker sounds exactly the same live and the band as a whole is exactly what you expect from them seeing them live so it\’s an amazing set all the way around. Finally, August Burns Red took over the night and the crowd went insane. They played their album Messengers in its entirety, which is one hell of an album in general but hearing it live is a whole different experience. ABR totally owned Silver Spring by the end of their set, and rightfully so. August Burns Red will be out on the Messengers tour through February. Be sure to check the dates and hit a stop. -Tera Ford
