The Chronic Illness: Freshly Baked is the second full length album released last year by Item 9 and the Mad Hatters and features an eclectic mix of rock, funk and blues.
This album is a little different from their first full length,
Old Style, in that it has more of a funk and blues-inspired sound than the latter. This is definitely a good thing, because the band is able to showcase different styles of sound between their first two releases.
“It’s All good”, “Downtrodden”, “Out of Our Hands” and “Typical” illustrate the slower funkier sound Item 9 and the Mad Hatters are capable of.
Overall,
The Chronic Illness: Freshly Baked is a decent album from Item 9 and The Mad Hatters.
