Icon For Hire Return With Gritty New Single ‘Ready For Combat’ Alongside High-Powered Music Video, Announce US Tour

Icon For Hire will head out on their first US tour in over two years, accompanied by Awake At Last and Sumo Cyco. They will kick off their colossal 25-city outing on June 16 at the Blind Tiger in Greensboro, NC and will end on July 22 in Dallas, TX at Amplified Live. Tickets for the Icon For Hire US tour are on sale now, please visit iconforhire.net for tickets and information.

Following up on the Rock Sound and Kerrang! Radio supported album ‘Amorphous’, Ready For Combat’ channels a harder-edged sound, in the band’s own words; “grittier, louder, larger”, featuring lead singer and songwriter Ariel Bloomer‘s highly confrontational lyrics spilling all her suppressed rage, lead guitarist Shawn Jump’s in-your-face guitar style, co-written with Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen and mixed by Joe Rickard of In Flames and Red.

Describing the song as “a punch in the face”, lead singer Ariel Bloomer says: “I’m demanding a fight, insisting that my demons come out to meet me. It actually feels amazing to acknowledge this angrier side of me. As women we often don’t have the space and freedom to do that, so it feels good to create some space with this song”. “It’s pure aggression from  the start!”, adds Shawn, “it doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles we usually incorporate in our song”. This heaviness is perfectly depicted by  the gripping video accompanying the single, which features Ariel in all her fierceness.

Since forming in 2007, Icon For Hire – composed of singer Ariel Bloomer and guitarist Shawn Jump – have quietly amassed a legion of fans. With 250 millions global streams to date and nearly 1 million followers across social platforms, Icon For Hire are no longer  the sleeping giants of the modern rock scene. Having sold over 120,000 albums to date through their completely independent set up, they are one of the most successful direct to fans stories.

With ‘Ready For Combat’ Icon For Hire continues to build their legacy on their own terms, unapologetically forcing all to take note that they aren’t going anywhere any time soon.
