Francesca Battistelli: If We\’re Honest review

Not many artists have risen to stardom as fast as Francesca Battistelli has in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) industry. After just two studio records, she’s become one of the most well-known current artists around and her third record would be crucial to her career.

Enter 2014 and Battistelli has released If We’re Honest, her most mature and impressive offering to date. If We’re Honest shows Battistelli really coming into her own and finding herself musically and will be an instant winner with fans.

If We\’re Honest shows Battistelli exploring numerous avenues and getting very personal while expanding upon everything she\’s done sonically on her first two records.

Kicking off with lead single “Write Your Story,” Battistelli is off to a roaring start and it’s clear she’s well on her way to her third straight no. 1 album. Then with “When The Crazy Kicks In” she quickly solidifies this album as a home run.

Songs like “Unusual,” “Find Rest” and “Choose to Love” will become quick fan-favorites and Battistelli has clearly outdone herself on this record.

It’s not often a recording artist tops the charts with their debut and sophomore records. When they do reach such a level of success, oftentimes their third release drops off a bit or loses steam and momentum. In today’s music industry it’s all about momentum and the third release is just as important and vital as the sophomore- if not more.

Her musical growth has been more than impressive and with If We’re Honest, Battistelli has not only shown that she has what it takes to hang with the top names in Christian music, but she’s also released her strongest, lyrically and thematically heavy record to date and proven that she belongs at the top.

It’s just a matter of time before she hits the number one slot for the third time in three albums and becomes a household name.
