Rob Zombie: Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor review

\"Venomous-Rat-Regeneration-Vendor\"

With a new movie, new book and new album, most people would fall short somewhere and one of the three or that one would be weaker.

Not with Rob Zombie, not in the least bit. In fact, his latest studio album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, is one of his most dynamic yet.

Zombie always has the electronic and funkadelic undertone to his music, which is why it should come as no surprise that he covers Grand Funk Railroad’s ”We’re An American Band” and throughout the album has a strong funky sound.

The man is notorious for his horror-induced, pseudo-satanic song titles and there’s no shortage of them on this one- “Teenage Nosferatu Pussy\” (which sounds very similar to \”Demonoid Phenomenon\” off of Hellbilly Deluxe), “Lucifer Rising,” “Trade in Your Guns for a Coffin,” “The Girl Who Loved Monsters.”

This may be the current band lineup’s first album together but the band- Ginger Fish, John 5, Piggy D and Zombie- have been touring together for years and entered the studio almost immediately after coming off the road so it’s no shocker that this album is this impressive. They’re a finely tuned cohesive unit of evil.

Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor is a hard, heavy, groovy, funky, evil record that you absolutely must hear. Capturing the demonic relic of White Zombie’s sound with the essence of what Rob Zombie is all about, this one ranks right up with the best of the dead man’s work.
